From December 4th to 6th, the School of Physics held the 2020 Annual Meeting of the Physics School Branch of the Lanzhou University Alumni Association and the Third Alumni High-end Forum in Zhaoqing, and used this as an opportunity to strengthen the friendship among alumni, build a sharing platform, deepen school-enterprise cooperation and help the development of alumni.
Alumni representatives from all over the country enjoyed a happy get-together to share their feel about friendship and seek to develop together. Fan Baojun, the Vice President of Lanzhou University, Lei Ji, the Secretary General of Lanzhou University Education Development Foundation, Wu Guojun, the Party Committee Secretary of Physics School, Professor Luo Honggang , the Dean of Physics School, and Vice Dean of Physics School Li Xingbo attended the meeting, which was presided over by Liu Yingqi, the Secretary General of Physics School Branch of Lanzhou University Alumni Association.
At the meeting, Zhang Weidong, an alumnus who enrolled in 1982, delivered a speech on behalf of Wang Yanling, the Chairman of Physics School Branch of the Lanzhou University Alumni Association. He pointed out that the Physics Alumni Chapter has always been the home of physics people of Lanzhou University. It is a platform for mutual assistance, mutual love, in-depth cooperation and exchanges among alumni, supporting the progress and development of alumni together, and at the same time gathering strength to feed back the construction of the first-class discipline and school career development.
Fan Baojun said he was very happy to participate in the 2020 Annual Meeting of the Physics School Branch of the Lanzhou University Alumni Association and the Third Alumni High-end Forum in beautiful Zhaoqing. He pointed out that 2020 was an extraordinary year. In the no-gunpowder war of the new crown pneumonia epidemic, under the strong leadership of General Secretary Xi Jinping and the Party Central Committee, Lan University alumni from all over the world were united, marched forward bravely, and raised funds. The alumni took care of each other, shared weal and woe, and overcame difficulties together, showing that Lanzhou University alumni do not shy away from storm, inherit the spirit of Lanzhou University, and help the development of the alma mater and society. He also introduced the development of the university’s alumni work and pointed out that Lanzhou University is in the window period of comprehensive revitalization, the critical period of reform and innovation, and the initial stage of building a world-class university with Chinese characteristics, which is closely centering on the fundamental task about moral education, emancipating the mind, reforming and innovating, striving to be strong, comprehensively enhancing the overall strength, and creating greater glories.This is inseparable from the strong support of the national ministries and commissions, provincial, municipal, and county governments, numerous alumni, and teachers and students in the university. I hope that numerous alumni will continue to provide advice, funding and wisdom for the development of the alma mater.
Researcher Ma Zhongqi , an alumnus who enrolled in 1956 by Lanzhou University , from the Institute of High Energy Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences donated a copy of his doctorate certificate No. 1001 and the donation certificate issued by the National Museum to the Lanzhou University Museum, sharing his experience of studying and researching at Lanzhou University, and thanking Duan Yishi, Kuang Yuping, Wang Dingbai, Qian Bochu and other physicists of Lanzhou University for their inculcation.Researcher Ma Zhongqi has been adhering to lanzhou university’s “diligence, truth-seeking, and enterprising” style of study throughout his life,and persisting in the field of high-energy physics research, who is a leader in the inheritance of lanzhou university’s spirit.
Luo Honggang reported on the school’s situation and the work of alumni in terms of historical evolution, discipline construction, team building, and scientific research. He said that since the comprehensive reform led by the “teaching reform” was launched in 2018, physics school has been built the “three-in-one” grassroots teaching organization structure around the curriculum group, established the “five-in-one” organizational system for consultation, decision-making, execution, implementation, and promotion, released the "School-Enterprise, School-Institute, School-School" cooperation plan, explored the "2+2" talent training model, comprehensively promoted the development of the school, which has achieved remarkable results. He pointed out that this is the first attempt by the school to hold the 2020 Annual Meeting of the Physics School Branch of the Lanzhou University Alumni Association and the Third Alumni High-end Forum in a different place, which is a new approach for the School to emancipate the mind, break the isolation, and strive to move closer to the advanced development concepts in the east. And he expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Guangdong Audiowell Sensing Technology Company limited by shares for its strong support.
Zhang Shuguang, chairman of Guangdong Audiowell Sensing Technology Co., Ltd., introduced the situation of school-enterprise cooperation with the school. Both parties relied on the Lanao Sensor Joint Research Institute to carry out research on lead-free piezoelectric ceramic materials and have made significant progress. Two Audiowell sensor customization classes were organized, and more than 20 junior brother and junior sister came to the company for practical internships. He pointed out that in order to respond to the national innovation-driven strategy and cultivate more innovative and applied talents, he was willing to contribute to the cultivation of applied talents in the school-enterprise scientists, and he called on other alumni’s companies to strengthen cooperation with the school to help junior brother and junior sister quickly grow into a corporate elite.
At the meeting, the alumni were excited about the school’s achievements in recent years and had a lively discussion on the school’s development in personnel training, discipline construction, scientific research, and alumni work.
After the meeting, the alumni also visited the Zhaoqing branch of Guangdong Audiowell Sensing Technology Co., Ltd.
