报告摘要:

The ionization of neutral molecules and electron detachment of anions can proceed in processes delayed by several hundred femtoseconds. These processes involve a highly excited electronic subsystem and has been observed for a number of molecules and clusters exposed to photons with energies far below the ionization energy [1-4]. Recently the process was also observed for C60 and C70 when these molecules were exposed to photons with energies far above the ionization energy [5,6].

In the talk I will present the background for and results of these experiments that were performed at the Elettra synchrotron ring, and discuss some possible implications for our understanding of the ionization process.
